SPECIAL MEAL DEALS AT THE SEAHORSE RESTAURANT

From November 1st the Seahorse Restaurant will be providing a 'Locals Menu' in addition to their usual menu. CANDLELIT DARTMOUTH

The second Candlelit Dartmouth event will be held on the 12th and 13th December.Last year’s event proved to be absolutely magical with processions of beautiful handmade willow and paper lanterns winding through the narrow streets of beautiful Dartmouth This year the procession will take place from 6pm on Friday 12th culminating in the greeting of Santa as he arrives from the river. Stilt-walkers, musicians and fairies will also accompany the parade. There will be late night shopping, a market in the Avenue Gardens, musicians and carol singing at the Bandstand. The park and ride will be free of charge and will run until late. The Saturday will have 2 markets – in The Avenue Gardens and in the Old Market alongside the Farmers Market. There will also be entertainers such as a Samba band parading the streets and some of the shops will have special offers. Dartmouth has great mix of shops and galleries for doing your Christmas shopping and you’re sure to find something different. Parking will be free of charge on this day and again there will be free park and ride. 

Raffle tickets for fund-raising of the event are being sold with a first prize of a Jeroboam of Vintage Champagne. Prizes will be drawn at the Candlelit knees-up – a great party on Sat 13th December featuring Sax Appeal at the Guildhall. For more info see

the premier music event in the South West, with a performance of their act, plus there will be prizes to be won, and you might even get on telly!

So register your interest and apply for an application form from stokefleming@googlemail.com download a form from the www.dartmusicfestival.co.uk website or call into the Flavel and pick up an application form.

All entries must be in by the 31st December this year and auditions will be held in the Flavel on Sunday 1st February 2009 from 2pm.
Applications are £2 per act, no matter how many there are of you!

If, on the other hand, you are a bit shy or really cannot think of something to perform to wow the judges, come along and be in a select audience for an eye-opening evening of entertainment.

Tickets will be on sale soon from the Flavel at £4 (adults) and £2 (under 18s) for the auditions, and £10 for the final.

Salcome - Kingsbridge Estuary View and Foreshore

Nigel Mortimer - Marine Ecologist - invites you to join him on a circular walk along the Kingsbridge  and Bowcombe Creeks and back over the hill between, taking in the fine views of he estuary. Along the way, investigate the sheltered rock and muddy shores, saltmarshes and estuarine mudflats. There is a good possibility of seeing some estuarine birds so bring binoculars and an ID guide if you have them.
 
The walk covers about 2 1/2 miles with a few level but slippery rocks and a short steep hill climb. Not recommended for the very young, and dogs must be on a lead.

Meet at Kingsbridge Tourist Information Centre on the Kingsbridge Quay art 2.00 p.m. Return around 4.30 p.m.  Please wear appropriate clothing wellies or wlaking boots.

The Classic Channel Regatta

Saturday July 4th- Saturday July 11th 2009

Dartmouth Classics will be held over the weekend of Saturday July 4th - Sunday 5th, kicking off with a welcome do on Friday evening. There will be racing in Start Bay off Dartmouth on Saturday and Sunday before the start of the Classic Channel Race to Dinard on Monday July 6th.

The weekend will again be hosted by the Royal Dart Yacht Club and a full programme of social events is planned at both the RDYC clubhouse and the Old Market Square in Dartmouth. The Dart Harbour Authority are very kindly waiving mooring fees for two nights over the weekend for competitors.

All boats and crews are assured of a very warm welcome at the beautiful port of Dartmouth
